Last week marked the beginning of preparations for 2016 re-election campaign
Last week, I made my intention to run for re-election official. It has been a pleasure serving the constituents of the 7th district in Salem, and it would be a pleasure to serve another two years.
In my freshman year in the legislature, I have seen both tremendous good and bad, within our community and in enacted legislation. There is still much to be done in Salem to benefit District 7 and of Oregon.
Having served as vice-chair of the House Health Care committee, I saw first hand the impact of inadequate mental health care access. Mental health care access has become one of the most glaring issues for our state, and is clearly an issue affecting our district. If re-elected, I will continue working to address Oregon’s mental health access concerns.
In the 2015 session, I sponsored bills pertaining to child oral care, student dental screenings, mobile care unit protection, and dental service for pregnant medical assistance recipients. This work derived from my dental practice, and the problems I saw that needed addressed. I truly hope my unique background in the field of dentistry will make a positive impact on the citizens and the industry here in Oregon in our hopes to better improve health care on all fronts
I am dedicated advocating for the 7th district at the same energy and intensity as I did last session. Please contact me if you have questions or concerns.
